Terms of Service

Last updated 17 September 2026

These terms apply to your use of the OpenScore app and this website, provided by Nemo Studio (“we”). By using OpenScore, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. Questions: [email protected].

The app

OpenScore is a sheet music viewer for iPhone, iPad, and Android. You can import files you have the right to use, then read, annotate, organize, practice, and record. Core features work without an account or payment.

  • OpenScore Pro (subscription): includes features that need our servers, such as cloud sync and a monthly score analysis allowance, plus everything in the tool pack.
  • Tool pack (Plus, one-time purchase): permanently unlocks extra on-device tools such as the chord pen, finger numbers, shape pen, and line-by-line view.

The purchase screen in the app is the reference for which features belong to each.

Payment, renewal, and refunds

Prices, free trials, and renewal periods are shown by the App Store or Google Play on the purchase screen. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends. If you don’t cancel during a free trial, it converts to a paid subscription when the trial ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us. Purchases on Apple devices are also subject to Apple’s Standard EULA. You can recover purchases with “Restore Purchases” in Settings.

Your scores and content

Rights to the scores, annotations, and recordings you add stay with you or the original rights holder; we claim no ownership. You give us permission to store, transmit, and process that content only as needed to provide cloud sync and score analysis.

You are responsible for having the right to store scores, back them up to our servers, and send them for analysis. Editions downloaded from IMSLP follow the licenses of IMSLP and that edition, and public domain status can differ by country.

Accounts and cloud sync

Accounts are optional; Apple or Google sign-in is used only for cloud sync.

  • Each account has a limit on linked devices and storage.
  • Sync lets you continue across devices; it is not meant to be the only copy. Keep your own backups of important scores.
  • You can delete your account and server copies in Settings. If you delete only the app, server copies may remain.
  • If your Pro subscription ends and is not renewed, server copies may be cleared one year after we last confirmed an active subscription. Files on your device are not deleted.
  • Scores and recordings moved to Trash are permanently deleted from the device after 30 days.

Score analysis

Score analysis uses AI to suggest details such as title, composer, key, and time signature. Suggestions can be wrong, so check them. There is a free trial allowance and a monthly Pro allowance, and we may cap total daily usage to keep the service stable.

Acceptable use

Do not:

  • store or distribute content that infringes others’ copyrights or rights;
  • break into, bypass, or interfere with our servers, accounts, or purchase checks;
  • abuse analysis or sync through automated means, or resell or reverse engineer the app to build a competing service.

If you do, we may limit or suspend that account’s access to server features.

Availability and changes

The app, sync, and analysis are provided “as is.” We work to keep them reliable but do not guarantee they will be uninterrupted or error-free. Scores on your device do not depend on our servers.

We may change or remove features. If we have to end a server feature included in a paid subscription, we will give notice and time to move your synced data to your device.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from use of the app (such as data loss or problems during a performance), and our total liability will not exceed what you paid for OpenScore in the 12 months before the event. This does not apply to damages caused by our intent or gross negligence, or to liability that cannot be limited by law. Nothing in these terms reduces your statutory rights as a consumer.

This website

openscore.nemostudio.net introduces the product and hosts these documents. Store buttons lead to Apple or Google, and use of those stores follows their terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any more protective rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your country of residence still apply.

Changes

When these terms change, we will post the new version here with an updated date and announce significant changes in the app or on this page. Continuing to use OpenScore after a change means you accept the new terms.
